² Like a lily among thorns,
    so is my darling among the young women.

³ Like an apple^[a] tree among the trees of the forest,
    so is my beloved among the young men.
In his shade I take delight and sit down,
    and his fruit is sweet to my taste.^[b]
4 He has brought me to the banquet hall,
    and his banner over me is love.
